Are you doing Twitter the right way? Want to Improve Twitter Results?
Unless you happen to be a famous celebrity odds are you may need some help improving your Twitter results. So I put together 4 quick actionable tips to get you on the right track.
With 320 Million Monthly Active Users Twitter is a must for any business.
Twitter is also one of the only free platforms that actually delivers traffic. You may not be able to generate as much traffic as buying ads but once again we are talking about free traffic. If you do Twitter right you should see your traffic grow as you increase your followers.
First let’s take a look at how the most successful social media personalities do Twitter the right way.
The one thing that all large Twitter accounts have in common is that they deliver VALUE to their audience consistently.
Update Your Profile
If you want to grow your Twitter audience you must be follow worthy!
Step back and look at your profile objectively. Ask yourself would I follow this person if I didn’t already know them?
Make sure your profile is complete with a well done profile picture and a complete bio that is informative and serves its purpose with searchable keywords and #hashtags.
Take advantage of the large real estate in your header picture to include additional information about yourself.
I just updated my personal profile. What do you think?
Follow More of the Right People
Growing your audience can be time consuming but it’s well worth it. The main challenge is to grow a targeted audience. These are people that follow you that are likely to buy your product or service and that are also going to share your content.
You should follow people that are following your competition, influencers in your niche or people talking about your topic of interest.
Use Twitter management tools like MoreFollow to make it easier to find the right audience and to keep your account clean by unfollowing people that are not a good match.
If you really want rapid growth you should follow at least 100 – 150 people per day. Don’t follow too many or you will get your Twitter account suspended. Then simply unfollow those who don’t follow you back within a certain amount of time.
Never buy followers. You are only interested in having people follow you that will actually be able to engage with you. Buying followers serves no purpose whatsoever.
Deliver Awesome Tweets Consistently
Make sure you only share good stuff! Remember to deliver VALUE to your followers.
Social Media is all about establishing a relationship so don’t be selfish. Your tweets should inspire a positive reaction and establish trust.
Don’t be afraid to tweet more than once. Remember not everyone you follow is going to see every post you tweet so share a blog post more than once at different times of the day.
Tools for scheduling Tweets can be a huge time saver. Make sure that you schedule your tweets to post throughout the day to reach your maximum audience. There are many tools available that make it easy to queue up your content. Of course our morefollow tool has a scheduling feature but I’m also a big fan of buffer.
Use tools to help you schedule your tweets but don’t forget to jump in and engage with people by responding to tweets.
Measure Your Performance
You have to understand what’s working and what is not worth spending time on.
There is always a way to do something better. The key is to identify what’s working so you can focus on doing more of that particular thing.
- Check your stats often to check your progress.
- You should be increasing your followers.
- Make sure that you are sending tweets every day.
- Take note of tweets that get the most clicks and retweets so you can produce more of them.
- See if certain activity is causing people to unfollow you.
Turn your discovery into action.
